<p>El Salvador will celebrate IDAHOT with a special event coordinated by the regional Trans network RedLacTrans with the support of UNAIDS, UNDP, the Robert Carr Fund, Heartland Alliance, The Global Fund and the International HIV Alliance.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>To mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia the Federation of Gay Games and LGBT sports group Didesex Desportes have joined together to promote a series of events across Mexico and Central America. </strong></p>
<p>As part of the event games will be held in Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua to promote IDAHOT 2015. As well as raising awareness for the day, organisers hope that the events will help combat stereotypes about LGBTI people held in these countries.</p>
<p>As well as these events Didesex will hope to further combat stereotypes by sharing profiles of individuals involved through their social media in the week following May 17th. Messages and images will also be shared (in Spanish) using the hashtag #deportevshomofobia.</p>

<p><strong>Actions by Fraternidad Gay Sin Fronteras</strong></p>
<p>The group Fraternidad Gay Sin Fronteras (Gay Fraternity Without Borders), organised a series of specific activities around the IDAHOT 2014. Some highlights included:</p>
<ul>
<li>A national consultation on government progress on hate crimes against GBLTI communities.</li>
<li>An event at the LGBT Violence Prevention Center of Nicaragua, in El Salvador.</li>
<li>Discussion regarding World-MCP Funds (Country Coordinating Mechanism) in relation to GBLTI communities, and the use of Bank funds.</li>
<li>Event on Fair Faith, Churches and Hate Crimes in El Salvador, sponsored by USAID-ALDES.</li>

<p>A street march, which was organised and attended by a variety of GBLTI and civil society organizations also took place in San Salvador, bringing together hundreds of people.</p>

<p>So far, the organisation has been working on the following activities as part of Pride Month:</p>
<p>&#8211; National consultation on governmental progress on Hate Crimes against LGBTI<br />
&#8211; Invitation by CEPREV , Center for Prevention of Violence against LGBTI of Nicaragua in El Salvador .<br />
&#8211; Hearing at World Fund- MCP (Country Coordinating Mechanism) on LGBTI and the use of bank funds.<br />
&#8211; Faith Fair, Churches and Hate Crimes in El Salvador, sponsored by USAID &#8211; ALDES</p>

<p>Fraternidad Sin Fronteras El Salvador is a non-governmental organisation based in the community that is vulnerable to the risk of HIV/AIDS and STIs in El Salvador.<br />
Fraternidad Sin Fronteras began its efforts to prevent HIV/AIDS in 2000, initially directing at young men, and extending later to young men and women and the general population of those areas of El Salvador who had no coverage by other organisations, developing awareness and education, framed in art and cultural events.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h4>The Day in El Salvador was marked by the inauguration of a new help line to assist and care for LGBTTTI communities, which is supported by the Ministry of Social Inclusion (SIS). Trans activists linked to the group REDTRANSAL (Trans Network of El Salvador) also hosted an event in which participants discussed and called for the creation of an action plan to achieve a gender identity law in El Salvador.</h4>

<p>Trans communities and allies of El Salvador attended the Forum on the gender identity law, and they also invited a number of Deputies to the event. The REDTRANSAL Collective consists of the Trans Alexandria, AsTrans, ASPIDH COMCAVIS TRANS and TRANS. The event was held on Saturday May 25, 2013 at the Hotel Intercontinental (13:00 – 18:00).</p>
