The organization New Men and Women of Panama held on May 16, for the second consecutive year, the 2nd Walk Against Phobias of Sexual Diversity. Under the slogan “We do not ask tolerance. We demand more respect ” they marched on Saturday 16 from the Parque de las Madres, David, Chiriqui.

In the week around the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia 2014, the Association Men and Women of Panama developed various activities, in different cities, to promote equality and human rights for LGBTI communities.

The group of the organization, which is based in Chiriqui province, held a public march to celebrate this day under the theme “Leaving Traces”. Meanwhile, the group located in Panama City conducted an event in conjunction with the Office of Human Rights High Commissioner. A kiss-in was also held at Panama city Metro station, which you can see in the video here:

Organización Hombres y Mujeres Nuevos de Panamá realiza campaña de divulgación. ONU reconoce derechos de gays en el Día Iinternacional contra la Homofobia y Transfobia

En el Día Internacional contra la Homofobia y la Transfobia, desde Panamá, el secretario general de las Naciones Unidas, Ban Ki Moon, y la Alta Comisionada de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos, Navi Pillay, recordaron que los derechos de las personas lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transexuales y transgénero (conocidas como LGBT) son derechos humanos.
