The trans youth community planned to have a social event that provides an open dialogue with parents and opinion leaders in an informal setting. Additionally, they were also planning on documenting video diaries.

The group Friends of RAINKA appealed to government, church and public to halt hate speech against LGBTI people. Amnesty International used the Day to give a special emphasis to recent human rights abuse cases in the country.

Members of the group created a video in the lead up to the Day, published on April 20.
