To celebrate International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT), Singapore-based MOVE Community is organising a kite flying day to foster social harmony, friendship and healthy living among all allies & communities.

On May 17, there will be the event ‘I will survive Homophobia’ which will be focussing on the issue of discrimination and violence based on sexual orientation and gender identity in Singapore.

Leow Yangfa, the editor of the book, has spent most of his adult life involved in social services, including a previous job in a statutory organisation,

The International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia in Singapore will be marked by the presentation of the book “I will survive”

To commemorate IDAHO 2012, Leow Yangfa – editor of the e-book “I Will Survive: Personal Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Stories in Singapore” – gave away 30 free copies of his book, which gives an insight into LGBT issues in Singapore and Asia in general.
