A towering figure of the 20th and 21st Centuries, Mandela’s life is sure to be celebrated by generations of people, everywhere, who care about human rights, democracy and anti-imperialist struggle.

Iranti-Org is coordinating the event that will take place on the 17th May 2013 on the southern side of Africa. The group has invited all LGBTI activists to participate in a joint action for May 17 and has joined forces this year

The Cape Town-based LGBT group, Free Gender, together with partners, will be celebrating International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia, with a panel discussion on the 17th, on the subject of “Democracy and Homosexuality in the new South Africa”.

The Day’s events were co-ordinated by participants of Iranti-org, in joint collaboration with activists from groups FEW, TIA, GDX, SHE, ARASA, CAL, EPOC, Uthingo, Sexual Rights Centre, and many many more.
