Imbarco Immediato, an LGBT organization in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, has created a Facebook page called “Mi piace dire no all’omofobia” (I like saying no to homophobia) and is inviting supporters to click on the “I like” icon on the page in order to gather a maximum of “likes” by May 17’s IDAHO.

A range of activities took place in Venezuela for IDAHO 2012, including public “vaccinations” against homophobia in various squares in Caracas.

On a continent where the mobilisation against homophobia and transphobia is particularly difficult, Cameroonian activists boldly developed a large program of action in the city of Yaoundé, including a workshop for LGBT activists, a public conference with thematic forums, and a cultural evening.  

Activists in Albania had to battle heavy rain and dodge explosives hurled at them by youths on their “Ride against Homophobia” along the main boulevard of the capital Tirana as part of the country’s IDAHO 2012 celebrations.

In Belize, a country which has laws criminalizing same-sex relationships, activists launched online actions on Facebook tackling the issue of homophobia. LGBT groups also organised a media conference and reached out to various ministries to promote legislative change.
